Bonnie Bruns recently joined Heartland as our Program/Equine Manager.
Bonnie comes to Heartland with over 26 years of experience in the horse industry and 12 years of experience with equine-assisted activities. Most recently, Bonnie has been the Equestrian Program Coordinator and Instructor at CLO’s Midnight Farm in Baldwin City. At Midnight Farm she not only managed their program in terms of recruitment, evaluation, scheduling, instructing, and documentation, but she also was responsible for equine care and training as well as facility maintenance.
Bonnie’s other relevant career experience includes:
- Executive Director and instructor for Pathways Animal Assisted Therapy
- Program Director and Instructor at Serenata Farm School of Equestrian Arts
- Program Manager and Instructor at Arkansas State University Equine Center
- Graduate Assistant and Horse Manager at ASU College of Agriculture
Bonnie has a MS in Agriculture with an emphasis on Agricultural Business from Arkansas State University and a BS in Equestrian Science from William Woods University. She has an Advanced Certification from PATH Intl. and has mentored several PATH Certified Instructors.
Through her experience and education Bonnie has become accomplished at program management and the daily operations of equestrian programs and facilities. She will be a tremendous asset to Heartland.
