Over Labor Day weekend, Heartland Therapeutic Riding participated in the Mid-American Charity Horse Show hosted by the Mid-America Saddlebred Horse Club that benefits HTR. The show was held at the beautiful Longview Horse Park.

HTR riders, Carla and Nerissa rode in the UPHA Exceptional class on Saturday morning. Carla rode Roanie and Nerissa rode Murphy. It was Nerissa’s first horse show! We are so proud of these ladies! They define what sportsmanship is all about at HTR with their courage, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Congratulations Carla and Nerissa on their first and second placements at the Show!

A big thank you also goes to the volunteers who helped work the entrance gate to the Show on Friday and Saturday. The proceeds from the Show are donated to HTR in support of our mission to change lives, one ride at a time.

Carla received the 2017 Thomas Fahey Memorial Award at the HTR Horse Show in June. The award is given to a rider, who exemplify sportsmanship, horsemanship and friendship.
